This could prove helpful.

On Monday, Apple released iOS 7.1.2, the latest version of the operating system for its iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices.

The new version, a 1.44 gigabyte download via Software Update, adds the following fixes and changes:
- Improves iBeacon connectivity and stability.

- Fixes a bug with data transfer for some 3rd party accessories, including bar code scanners.

- Corrects an issue with data protection class of Mail attachments.

Apple releases OS X 10.9.4 Mavericks update

On Monday, Apple released its OS X 10.9.4 Mavericks operating system update. The new version, which stands at roughly a 958.2 megabyte via OS X’s Software Update utility, offers the following fixes, changes and new features:

- Fixes an issue that prevented some Macs from automatically connecting to known Wi-Fi networks.

- Fixes issue causing the background or Apple logo to appear incorrectly on startup.

- Improves the reliability of waking from sleep.

- Includes Safari 7.0.5.

Goodbye Aperture, hello Photos

Last week an Apple spokesperson told TechCrunch that the company would be discontinuing the development of Aperture, Apple’s pro-level photo editing and management application, in favor of the new Photos app that will be released later this year;

“With the introduction of the new Photos app and iCloud Photo Library, enabling you to safely store all of your photos in iCloud and access them from anywhere, there will be no new development of Aperture. When Photos for OS X ships next year, users will be able to migrate their existing Aperture libraries to Photos for OS X.”

Recent iPhone 6 mockups may not be final design, back panel expected to feature glass similar to 5s model

Following the recent parade of iPhone 6 mockups, a new report by Japanese web site Nikkei (spotted by G Games) claims that the final iPhone 6 design will have straight lines across the back and that the back will look largely similar to the current iPhone 5s model.

The report could also explain why most mockups to date have strangely shown round camera flash parts. Apple switched to a pill-shaped dual-color “True Tone” flash starting with the iPhone 5s last year, a feature the company will likely continue to offer with this year’s flagship model.
