iOS 9.3.2 update bricks some 9.7-inch iPad Pro tablets, Apple exploring the issue

iOS 9.3.2 has arrived.

And it appears to have bricked some 9.7-inch iPad Pro tablets in the process.

A number of users are seeing an “Error 56” message after upgrading to iOS 9.3.2, and finding their devices bricked.

The error instructs affected users to connect to iTunes, but doing so and attempting to restore or update the iPad doesn’t work.

New patent points towards possible Touch ID sensor under screen of next-gen iPhone

A newly-published patent shows that Apple may be going the way of a bezel-free iPhone wherein the display extends all the way to the edges of the handset.

The patent describes three different technologies that can be used for fingerprint sensors, and says that the third of them – ultrasonic imaging – would not only allow the reader to be embedded into the display, but would also be even more accurate than the capacitive sensor used by Touch ID today.

Apple Pay rival CurrentC delayed, may never see release following employee layoffs

The CurrentC horse may never even make it out of the gate.

CurrentC, the payment platform backed by a group of retailers under the banner Merchant Customer Exchange that caused a kerfuffle when Apple Pay launched, may never see release.

The consortium announced Monday that the CurrentC rollout has been postponed and that the company will lay off 30 employees after “feedback from the marketplace and our Columbus pilot.” MCX tested CurrentC at Target, Walmart, and other retail locations in Columbus, Ohio.
