WWDC: Apple posts full video of WWDC 2016 keynote on web site

Right, there’s a metric TON of new stuff coming out of the Worldwide Developers Conference, but Apple just posted full video of its keynote address on its web site for streaming.

As usual, Apple shared a few feature-specific videos within the keynote, focusing on app updates to Messages within iOS 10, macOS 10.12 (Sierra) and new apps like Swift Playgrounds.

WWDC 2016: Apple Pay coming to online transactions this fall

Apple’s looking to bring Apple Pay to the Web.

Among the mucho announcements during the WWDC keynote, Craig Federighi, Apple’s senior vice president of software engineering, announced that the company will begin incorporating “Pay with Apple Pay” buttons. The new feature will be available when the latest version of macOS, Sierra, becomes available to Mac users this fall.

Federighi said the online “Apple Pay” button will require users to authenticate their identity from a TouchID device—iPhone or Apple Watch—to preserve the security of their transactions.

Siri begins to return queries regarding Finder, speculation brews ahead of WWDC

Siri is changing a bit ahead of WWDC 2016.

And it now knows what the Finder is.

As of now, when asked the specific question “Siri open settings in the window,” Siri for iOS responds with: “It doesn’t look like you have an app named ‘Finder’.”

Interestingly, omitting the word “Siri” from the query changes the response, and the assistant simply opens the iOS Settings application.

Over the years, there never has been a Finder application for iOS and the Finder was limited to OS X. The updated response has been seen as Apple’s possible integration of Siri on the Mac, a feature which is expected in OS X 10.12.

IconFactory celebrates 20th anniversary with old-school BitCam app

This could be pretty nifty.

The IconFactory has released BitCam, a small graphics app that creates a retro feel for the pictures on your iOS device.

Created to celebrate the IconFactory’s 20th anniversary, the app is done in something of a Mac OS 6 feel, complete with old camera click sounds when you take a picture and an old-school color palette to boot.
