Apple may in fact be working on an EEG device or functionality.

A recently published Apple patent application filing for an electrocardiogram device suitable for consumer use reinforces the company’s continued moves into the healthcare monitoring business.

The patent application addresses a wearable, not specifically the Apple Watch, that can be used on any limb of the body, and compensates automatically for differences in electrocardiographic measurements on side of the body, or distance from the heart. The measurement is started by the user pressing a surface electrode on the device, with the measurements and data correction necessary taking place after a period of measurement.

There’s no direct sign of the Apple Watch within the filing and the device is replaced by a generic graphic of a wearable technology in the diagrams.

A rumor on Tuesday suggested that Apple was looking at developing an entirely new piece of health-tracking hardware for a launch in 2017. The report pointed to a product that would “accurately collect users’ personal daily life including heart rate, pulse, blood sugar changes and other information.”

Forget the $200,000 bounty Apple is offering for information regarding zero-day vulnerabilities in iOS, a new security firm is offering up to $500,000 per discovery.

On Tuesday, Texas-based Exodus Intelligence said it will give between $5,000 and $500,000 for zero-day vulnerabilities relating to iOS version 9.3 and higher.

These zero-days are software flaws that have gone undetected by Apple, making them potentially very valuable, especially for cyber criminals who can use them to hack iOS devices.

It’s time for photo leaks of the next-gen iPhone again.

A series of high-resolution leaked images show what are apparently an iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
The photos claimed that in addition to the usual color options of Rose Gold, Gold, and Silver, Apple will offer the new iPhone in a variant of Blue. This resurfaces a rumor from earlier in the summer, which was believed to ultimately be a mistake and that this “Deep Blue” iPhone 7 is actually just a new shade of Space Gray.

The photos show both the front and rear side, albeit it’s difficult to confirm if the rumor regarding a traditional, tactile Home button instead of the flush, Force Touch-enabled Home button is present.
