Apple releases security updates for KRACK, other exploits in macOS High Sierra 10.13.1 update, Security Update 2017-004

A few critical security updates also shipped out with Tuesday’s macOS High Sierra 10.13.1 update.

Apple also released Security Update 2017-004 and Security Update 2017-001 macOS Sierra, which address the KRACK security exploit.

KRACK is a vulnerability in the WPA2 encryption standard for Wi-Fi networks that lets attackers decrypt the data passing to and from a specific device. The vulnerability exists in most any device capable of using WPA2 on Wi-Fi networks and once it was publicly disclosed product manufacturers started scrambling to release patches.

Apple initiates Reserve and Pickup system for iPhone X units in some countries

Following a successful preorder launch, Apple on Tuesday updated a handful of international websites to reflect new iPhone X Reserve and Pickup options set to begin on Nov. 4, giving customers another route to purchase.

Over in Australia, Belgium, and the U.K., customers will have the option to show up and reserve an iPhone X unit at 6 AM on November 4th. Potential iPhone X buyers in Canada, Hong Kong, Switzerland and UAE will be able to place their reservation at 8 a.m. that day as well.

Upon arrival, buyers will complete a short form online, wherein they’ll be issued a unique registration code and have 30 minutes to visit the store they selected to complete the transaction.
