I called Apple Adapter Exchange yesterday regarding the replacement of my replacement adapter. I received one of the “too tight” adapters of the first batch of replacements and requested a new one early last week.
When I called yesterday to find out the status, I was informed that the delay on receiving a new one is now 8-12 weeks based on the enormous number of customers who have now called with the same request. If I don’t receive it in the next two weeks, Apple says it’s okay for me to call with a different address (my school address, for which I depart 8/18), so that’s a plus.
The tight adapter isn’t so bad anymore. Maybe it just took some breaking in.
