The iPhone 6 leaks and early images continue…
Over on the Weibo photo sharing service, a user with the handle “dreamerJimmy” has posted additional shots of the supposed iPhone 6 design, including a comparison shot of the upcoming handset against the iPhone 5s. Apparently, dreamerJimmy was able to get early shots of the iPhone 5 and 5c handsets before their release, so the source seems reliable.
Per 9to5Mac and French web site Nowhereelse.fr, in the first image, the much thinner bezels of the supposed new device can be clearly seen, to maximise the screen space on the front side. The distance between the Home Button and the display has also been shortened.
On the top side of the phone, the gaps between the FaceTime camera and speaker components have also been significantly reduced. The hole for the front camera is also substantially larger in size, but it is unclear whether this signals upgrades to this component.
A newly leaked image of the back confirms what’s been established with previous leaks, as the handset includes an all metal finish aside for some inlets on the top and bottom, currently assumed to be an affordance for the antenna system.
Finally, an interesting production image has appeared on Nowhereelse.fr, which highlights the thinness of the upcoming handset.
Additional tidbits have also surfaced wherein, according to the China Times on Wednesday, Apple’s suppliers will start manufacturing circuit-boards for the phone by the end of the month. Component orders are expected to exceed 100 million.
Stay tuned for additional details as they become available.
