Well, the rumors were mostly right.

As expected, Apple announced the new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6S Plus handsets at the “Hey Siri” media event today. The new units will ship in silver, gold, space grey and rose gold colors, feature more durable glass, a 3D Touch feature that will calculate the force of a touch and bring up new options to work with and also include an improved Taptic Engine to gauge more accurate responses.

The big news, though, is the camera angle of things. The new iPhone models will include a 12 megapixel, iSight camera, 5 megapixel FaceTime HD camera and take what are known as “Live Photos”, which is essentially a default 1.5 camera burst that allows for 1.5 seconds of animation with your images when the image is touched.

The new models feature an A9 processor, built-in M9 motion coprocessor, LTE Advanced support capable of functioning up to 150 mbps, 2X faster Wi-Fi (up to 266 mbps), an Android transfer app, new color-matched charging docks and new leather and silicone covers.

The new models will be available at the exact same prices and configurations (base models start at US$199 and US$299 for the 16 GB models) and be available for pre-order on September 12th with a release date of September 25th.
