Apple Music, Sonos collaboration to begin in mid-December, public beta now open

FINAL WORDMARK

After some minor squabbling on the industry end as well as the distinct lack of Apple Music to Sonos’s list of supported streaming services, Apple and Sonos have come to terms with Apple Music joining the roster of supported music services come December 15.

Sonos originally said that its speakers would support Apple Music “when [Apple is] ready to focus on the home listening experience,” then confirmed that would happen by the end of the year. Apple Music launched on iOS and iTunes in June, and arrived on Apple TV in November.

Songs users will be able to enter the Apple Music public beta come mid-December with wider availability arriving in early 2016. They will be able to control Apple Music using the Sonos app, which will allow access to features like For You, New, My Music, and Radio, though not to Connect.

For users looking to join the beta program from their iOS device, you can take the following steps:

– Open the Sonos app

– Tap “Settings” then “Advanced Settings”

– Tap “Beta Program”

– Tap “Join the Beta Program”

As always, let us know what you make of this in the comments.
