elcapitan

In what might be the final major update for OS X El Capitan, Apple yesterday officially released OS X El Capitan 10.11.6 through the Mac App Store for all users.

The update adds the following fixes and changes:
– Resolves an issue that may prevent settings from being saved in accounts with parental controls enabled.

– Resolves an issue that prevented some network devices, such as speakers and multifunction printers, from accessing SMB share points.

Enterprise content:
– Improves startup time when connecting to a NetBoot server.

– Resolves an issue that may prevent startup from a NetBoot image created with an OS X v10.11.4 or OS X v10.11.5 installer.

– Resolves an issue that may cause Active Directory authentication to take longer than expected.

The update is available for free and can be downloaded and installed via the Mac App Store’s “Update” tab. If you’ve tried OS X 10.11.6 and have any feedback to offer, please let us know in the comments.

This update is hanging on half way through the install. Have attempting the install three times and each time it hangs up. Ended up restoring the system from Time Machine. Looking for advise.

10.11.6 Update via the App Store completely hosed my computer. Able to log in, but all applications and the dock were unable to open. Dock showed partial icons, none of which would open. Message stated “the Applications are “damaged” None of the applications (including Safari) would open directly.
Had to re-install a prior backup from Time Machine.
