On Tuesday, Apple released a public beta of Safari 3.0.3, the next version of its proprietary web browser. Safari 3.0.3 requires Mac OS X 10.4.9 or later to run.
The new browser, a 14 megabyte download, features security component updates found in the recently-released Security Update 2007 – 007 update. With the update, Mac OS X components such as bzip2, CFNetwork, Core Audio, cscope, gnuzip, Kerberos, mDNSResponder, PDFKit, PHP, Quartz Composer, samba, WebKit, and WebCore receive additional stability and security.
As with all betas, Safari 3.0.3 is still a work in progress, so be careful and be sure to have an alternate browser lined up just in case.
