Apple’s 1st Grand Opening of a Retail Store in Michigan turned out to be a great success. Well over a thousand (maybe more like 2,000) folks turned out to check out the New Apple Retail Store – Twelve Oaks – Novi MI. The store was on jam from the time it opened til the time it closed. I arrived at 8:30am to get set up for my demos. At that time there were about 70 people already in line to get in. By the 10 AM opening the line had grown to 350 people. The store has a maximum capacity of 60 at a time and therefore a line remained until about 1 PM. Apple gave away cool “collectors item” t-shirts to the 1st 1,000 people and they are were all gone by early afternoon.

Apple citizens of Novi, MI, your moment of fame has arrived: MacGroup has photos and video, and Dave Birdsong has a nice photo album.
