Review: Simpl A1 Amps up Your iPod
Simpl Acoustics has put out one of the best headphone amps for the iPod. Audiophiles demanding more power out of your iPod: this is the one. What makes it even better is that the Simpl A1 was just reduced from US$149 to US$99.
Placing my headphones into the A1's jack for the first time resulted in a pleasant increase in volume—basically it did what is said it could do. I recommend that you try it with high-end headphones, it will make you a believer. It also increased my iPod battery life via the built-in lithium-ion battery which is recharged when connected to a USB port on my computer.
The A1 attaches to the iPod using podgrip technology, which doesn't mark the iPod. If you've been looking to get more volume from your iPod, look no further, Simpl A1 is the answer.
Pros: Increases amplification of the iPod. Uses nice podgrip technology to stay attached to your iPod. There is enough power to drive the most demanding headphones.
Cons: Had some problems using it on other audio devices for review. Doesn't work with the iPod nano or mini.
Overall I would recommend it to my friends who want more volume from their iPod.
