Benchmarks: MBP Core Duo vs. Core 2 Duo

Conclusions
The MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo's advantage over the Core Duo version ranged from 9% to 75% depending on what app we ran. The faster core clock speed should provide an 8% advantage, so everything beyond that is "gravy." Most surprising were the significant gains with Aperture 1.5 and Photoshop CS2...
We were hoping that the 15" model would be the equal of the 17" MacBook Pro in every way except the screen size. However, this is still not the case. The 17" version has a faster SuperDrive (8X versus 6X). The faster 7200rpm 100GB drive is an option on the 17" but not on the 15"

Thanks for the speed tests. I have one thing I would like to see, if someone can try this. OR please check my logic, if faulty:
Because Adobe does not run things in native OSX now (but will give us a native version in spring) it may be interesting to contrast same Photoshop tests run on MBP running Windows & Photoshop. That should give us a good indicator of what improvements we have to look forward to when all is optimized.

One thing to note is that they don't specify what version of OS X that they used on the older MBP. This could change the results since MacWorld had this to say in their benchmarks - "One unexpected tidbit we learned in our testing was how much the recent OS X 10.4.8 update affected Rosetta performance."
