Blackberry PDA Maker's Revenues Taking Off

According to an article in Newsbytes.com, sales of the Research in Motion wireless PDA (Blackberry) are on the rise.

Just over 18 months after it first started shipping its Blackberry wireless e-mail pager to carriers, Research in Motion’s sales and earnings are taking off. During its latest quarter, RIM generated profits of $3.8 million on revenues of $77 million – up from $400,000 profits on revenues of $27.1 million for the same period to June 2, last year.

Although Palm is still the leader in market share, Compaq’s iPaq PDA is poised to surpass Palm-powered handhelds in revenues because of their higher average selling price.

In related news Palm announced Tuesday that they will beat lowered earnings estimates.
