Brother Announces New Printers

Brother International announced “a whole bunch of printers” today, quoth Dr. Will. Here’s a quick copy-and-paste from the MFC-P2500 press release (“Brother Announces New Laser Multi-Function Printer Ready for Use with Windows-R- and Apple-R- iMac-TM-/G3“):

Brother International Corporation today announced theMFC-P2500 as part of its new 12 PPM laser printer family. Featuring an impressive output speed of up to 12 pages perminute, true 600 x 600 dpi laser printing, up to 600 x 600 dpi scanning and special convenience copy functions, the MFC-P2500 is ideally suited to the busy SOHOuser whose fax needs are presently handled separately. The MFC-P2500 is a multi-platform device that ships standard with parallel and USB ports, and includesdrivers for PC Windows and Apple iMac(TM)/G3. It will begin shipping in October 1999, and is expected to sell for an estimated street price of $399.

And here goes a snippet of the press release (“Brother Introduces New 12 PPM Laser Multi-Function Centers For Windows(R) and Apple(R) iMac(TM)/G3 Environments“) for he MFC-8300 and MFC-8600:

Both models bear a new stylish, commercial design, an impressive print speed of up to 12 pages per minute and both USB and parallel ports are standard. Thesemodels are also the first, laser MFPs in the market that can be used with both Windows and Apple iMac(TM)/G3 environments. The MFC-8300 is a 3-in-1 MFC(fax, printer, & copier) that will sell in the market for $499(a). The MFC-8600 is a 6-in-1 MFC (fax, printer, copier, scanner, PC/Internet Fax & video capture) and will sell in the market for $599(a). Both models will be shipping in September.

Last, but not least, are the new personal monochrome laser printers, the Brother HL-1240 and HL-1250 (“Brother Introduces New 12 PPM Multi-Platform Personal Laser Printers Starting at $299“):

Brother International Corporation today introducesthe successors to its awarding winning series of monochrome personal laser printers, the Brother HL-1240 and HL-1250. Compatible with Apple’s iMac/G3 andWindows OS platforms, these fast, up to 12 page-per-minute (PPM) laser printers produce crisp business quality output, and come standard with USB andparallel ports. The new HL-1200 series printers also take on an all new commercial design, with a self-contained lower paper cassette. They are the lowest priced 12 PPM models available with $299 and $399 estimated street prices, respectively.
