Recently, Apple posted full instructions as to how to activate and deactivate Private Browsing in iOS 9. Private Browsing mode protects your private information and blocks some websites from tracking your behavior. Safari won’t remember the pages you visit, your search history, or your AutoFill information.

XcodeGhost malware affecting hundreds of iOS apps, Apple pulling infected versions from App Store

This is where things get a bit messier.

Apple has admitted that it is App Store integrity was compromised as apps were secretly infected by fake Xcode tools before submission to the App Store. The company has now officially acknowledged the problem and is now removing apps affected by the malware from the App Store.

Developers were inadvertently submitting malware by using counterfeit versions of Xcode, Apple’s development software, to submit apps. The fake Xcode, dubbed XcodeGhost, would inject malicious code into otherwise-legitimate apps during the submission process.

The malware seems to have infected hundreds of apps on the App Store, Apple releasing the following statement:

iFixit posts iPad mini 4 teardown, notes iPad Air 2 components, space-saving tricks

The cool cats at iFixit just tore into the newly-released iPad mini 4 and found that it’s essentially the iPad Air 2 components squeezed into a smaller form factor.

The new tablet uses the iPad Air 2’s fully laminated screen technology, which lends itself to a thinner design. The glass and display are adhered together, giving it a more rigid design and making screen repairs more difficult. iFixit also notes that the iPad mini has retained a battery design that makes it easy to disconnect, unlike the battery found in the larger iPads. Another small similarity between the iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 4 is that the Touch ID cable is now integrated directly into the display cable.

Apple releases iTunes 12.3, adds support for iOS 9, OS X 10.11 El Capitan

Amid a day of muchos updates, it should come as no surprised that iTunes has also been boosted a it.

Apple on Wednesday released iTunes 12.3. The new version adds support for iOS 9 and is also designed for OS X 10.11 El Capitan, which is scheduled to arrive later this month.

Other changes include the following:
– Improved Apple Music accessibility with VoiceOver.

-Resolved a problem that prevented ordering of songs within Up Next.

Apple introduces long-awaited iPad Pro, Apple Pencil, Smart Keyboard, iPad mini 4 at media event

You were hankering for the iPad Pro at the media event.

And your wish came true.

Over at the “Hey Siri” media event, Apple introduced its 12.9-inch iPad Pro tablet. The unit, which features a 5.6 million pixel display, A9X processor, 10-hour battery and 4-speaker audio system with audio frequency balancing, will arrive in gold, silver and space gray colors.

Apple Store web site down in advance of “Hey Siri” media event

As expected, Apple’s online store has been taken offline as of Wednesday morning. With less than six hours before the company’s scheduled media event, Apple is apparently configuring the soon-to-be-announced inventory to go online.

Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 6s, the iPhone 6s Plus, iPad Pro, iPad mini 4, the fourth-gen Apple TV, iOS 9, watchOS 2 and assorted Apple bands and finishes.

Apple, Cisco, announce collaboration to create “fast lane” for iOS products in enterprise environments

You can usually mend the fences when money’s involved.

Apple and Cisco announced on Monday that they have partnered up to integrate iOS products more tightly into the kind of enterprise networks sold by Cisco. Together, they will create a “fast lane” for iOS products in enterprise networks.

The companies also announced a plan to release developer tools that would enable iOS devices to take advantage of Cisco’s products and services.

By tightly integrating iOS and Cisco products, the end result could make iPhones and iPads perform better in corporate environments, as well as kickstart sales for the iPad, which has been experiencing declining sales for six consecutive quarters.

Apple might be debuting its long-awaited next-gen “iPad Pro” come the media event on September 9th.

The rumor mill currently has it that besides a pair of new iPhones, the substantially revamped Apple TV set top box, and new bands for the Apple Watch, Apple is currently planning to debut a a refreshed version of the iPad mini and the iPad Pro at the event.
