Apple may be releasing some new goodies come March.

A new rumor has it that Apple will host a March event, wherein the company will introduce a new 7.9-inch, 9.7-inch, 10.5-inch, and 12.9-inch iPad Pro. The 10.5-inch model may not ship until May, while the other sizes are said to ship in March.

The report hails from Japanese web blog Mac Otakara, which has a pretty good track record. The report indicates that Apple plans to refresh the iPad mini 4 with a new 7.9-inch iPad Pro model, update its existing 9.7-inch iPad Pro and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models, and introduce an all-new 10.5-inch iPad Pro, which is widely rumored to feature an edge-to-edge display without a Home button.

When Apple’s inventory runs low, a new model tends to be around the corner.

This seems to be the case with the iPad Air 2, wherein inventory levels have dropped as a trio of new models are rumored to soon launch, potentially suggesting the popular iPad Air 2 will be axed for a new model with faster processor.

Certain models of the table are not available from a number of authorized Apple resellers. At MacMall, neither the space gray nor silver variants of the 32-gigabyte Wi-Fi-only iPad Air 2 are in stock. And on the high end, B&H lists all LTE-equipped 128-gigabyte models as “no longer available,” suggesting inventory will not be replenished.

The rumor mill has kicked in and KGI Securities analyst Ming0Chi Kuo has released a note stated that Apple will launch three new iPad models in 2017. The new iPad models coming out this year include the second-generation update to the 12.9-inch iPad Pro that was first introduced in 2015, a brand-new 10- or 10.5-inch model with a narrow bezel design, as well as a budget-friendly 9.7-inch option.

The larger, high-end iPads will feature an A10X chip, while the lower-end iPad will arrive with an A9 processor. The A10X chip is a pumped-up version of the A10 chip currently powering the iPhone 7. The A10X will be manufactured by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. and the A9 chip, which powers the iPhone 6s, will continue to be made by Samsung.

iOS 9.3.2 has arrived.

And it appears to have bricked some 9.7-inch iPad Pro tablets in the process.

A number of users are seeing an “Error 56” message after upgrading to iOS 9.3.2, and finding their devices bricked.

The error instructs affected users to connect to iTunes, but doing so and attempting to restore or update the iPad doesn’t work.

A few of my favorite things: Waterfield and Peralta bags for the iPad Pro

Waterfield's Field Muzetto bag

Having a good bag is almost as important as having good equipment in the first place. If you spent good money on an iPad or MacBook it makes no sense to have your sweet hardware bouncing around in a poorly-constructed vessel that costs less than your Uber fare. It’s also a shame to tuck your beautiful Apple hardware into an unsightly “computer bag” which is why I love Waterfield bags.

I’ve been recommending Waterfield’s stitched-in-San Francisco products since 1999. If you’ve recently acquired a new iPad Pro, or your old bag needs to be updated, Waterfield’s got two great new products that I can’t recommend highly enough: the Field Muzetto and the Peralta Scarlett iPad Pro Sleeve.

It’s not unexpected by any means.

And it’s a cool bell and whistle.

Apple has published changes to its tech specs following its September 9th announcement of the 2015 iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPad Pro and iPad mini 4. With these changes, Apple quietly modified the tech specs and comparison pages for 2014’s iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, and iPad Air 2 to bump them all from Bluetooth 4.0 to Bluetooth 4.2, the latest version of the increasingly popular wireless standard. While the sixth-generation iPod touch shipped with Bluetooth 4.1, the original iPad Air, iPad mini 2, and iPhone 5s all remain on Bluetooth 4.0.

The cool cats at iFixit just tore into the newly-released iPad mini 4 and found that it’s essentially the iPad Air 2 components squeezed into a smaller form factor.

The new tablet uses the iPad Air 2’s fully laminated screen technology, which lends itself to a thinner design. The glass and display are adhered together, giving it a more rigid design and making screen repairs more difficult. iFixit also notes that the iPad mini has retained a battery design that makes it easy to disconnect, unlike the battery found in the larger iPads. Another small similarity between the iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 4 is that the Touch ID cable is now integrated directly into the display cable.
