It looks like there’s a good chance Apple will be adding to its iPad Pro offerings.

Per KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is expected to develop a 10.5-inch iPad Pro next year. In addition, Apple is rumored to launch a second-generation 12.9-inch iPad Pro in 2017, as well as a “low cost” 9.7-inch iPad model. The iPad Pros are expected to include an A10X processor, while the more-affordable 9.7-inch iPad will have the A9X chip.

Furthermore, KGI’s research predicts that Apple will release a new “revolutionary” iPad model, but we won’t see it until 2018 at the earliest. This next-gen iPad will sport a flexible AMOLED screen and “radical” changes to the form factor and the user experience. According to KGI, the AMOLED iPad will “follow the footsteps of the iPhone,” suggesting that an upcoming iPhone will be first to feature an AMOLED screen.

These might come in handy.

Apple on Tuesday launched new international versions of its Smart Keyboard accessory for iPad Pro previously only available in a U.S. English layout.

The new international Smart Keyboards now offer localized layouts including British English, French, Spanish, Korean, Italian and Arabic, among others.

The keyboards include localized differences, including support for the right-to-left Arabic language setting. You know, in most businesses, a quarterly profit of $7.8 billion would be considered a good thing.

In Apple’s frame of mind, this isn’t that stellar.

In today’s Q3 2016 conference call, representatives from Apple cited revenues of $42.4 billion, a profit of $7.8 billion with a margin of 38 percent.

Apple CEO Tim Cook cited the successful launch of the iPhone SE, wherein demand outstripped capacity at first. Additional capacity was brought online to handle this.

Cook cited an 8 percent decline in iPhone sales from Q3 2015.

Apple on Thursday released a revamped version of iOS 9.3.2 for the 9.7-inch iPad Pro.

The update, termed build 13F72, can be downloaded over-the-air on any 9.7-inch iPad Pro that has not previously been updated to the latest version of iOS 9.

iOS 9.3.2 was originally released to the public on Monday, May 16, but shortly after it came out, some users issued complaints that the update was bricking some 9.7-inch iPad Pro devices with an “error 56” message.

Well, this is a bit of a mess.

As of Friday, Apple has effectively pulled the iOS 9.3.2 update for the 9.7-inch iPad Pro.

The company has promised that a fix is in the works, albeit some users complained that the update effectively “bricked” their tablets in some cases while others were able to install the update without issue.

Upon attempting to install the update, affected iPad Pro units displayed an “Error 56” message, which Apple identifies as a generic hardware effort. Early reports suggested there was no immediate workaround other than taking the tablet to an Apple Store for help or a replacement.

The cool cats at iFixit have just torn down the 9.7-inch iPad Pro and found the typical mix of components from Samsung, Bosch Sensortec, NXP Semiconductors, and others, plus a whole lot of battery. Cutting to the chase, iFixit rates the smaller iPad Pro’s repairability at a low 2 out of 10, which is the same as the iPad Air 2 it replaces but one point below what it rated the 12.9-inch iPad Pro last year.

Comparing the two, iFixit gave the 12.9-inch iPad Proa slightly higher repairability score because its battery features pull tabs which help when removing and replacing it; the smaller iPad Pro’s battery lacks these pull tabs and can’t be easily removed due to a ton of adhesive that keeps it in place almost like soldering.

The impressively geeky Dr. Ray Soneira and the guys at DisplayMate shall be taking an in-depth look at Apple’s new Night Shift feature which surfaced in iOS 9.3 and has become popular through apps like F.lux.

Here’s what he had to say:

I have been following the effect of displays on sleep for many years. I am not a sleep researcher, but I am a theoretical physicist with extensive knowledge of the displays, light spectra, and human color vision. It is clear that many sleep researchers do not have a very good understanding of displays, light spectra, or human color vision, so many of their conclusions regarding displays are simply not correct.

The iPhone SE and 9.7-inch iPad Pro boast 2GB of RAM.

And that’s significant.

While Apple never announces the amount of RAM in its iOS devices, TechCrunch’s Matthew Panzarino was able to use a memory checking app to determine the amount of RAM in both devices.

Based on his testing, it appears that both the iPhone SE and the 9.7-inch iPad Pro include 2GB of RAM.

For you display freaks out there, the mighty Dr. Ray Soneira will be reviewing the display on the just-announced 9.7-inch iPad Pro this week and has offered the following comments do far:

The new 9.7″ iPad Pro is a welcome return to Apple innovating again in displays. The wide DCI-P3 Color Gamut, with the TrueTone dynamic Ambient Light White Point correction, and the record low 1.8 percent screen Reflectance are all major innovations for Tablets and PCs, and presumably for iPhones in the near future. The 25% boost in brightness to 500 nits is much less important than lowering the screen Reflectance down to an impressively very low 1.8 percent – most other displays reflect 3 times as much ambient light, which reduces image contrast and color saturation.
