Well, there’s gotta be a nugget of truth in here somewhere.

The rumor mill currently has Apple CEO Tim Cook telling Apple Store employees in Berlin that he wears his Apple Watch everywhere, “even in the shower.”

Apple has not officially designated the Apple Watch as either waterproof or water resistant. If Mr. Cook actually said he wears his in the shower, it could indicate that Apple will market the device as one or the other.

You could have an Apple Car as early as 2020.

According to a Bloomberg article, Apple is pushing its development team to have the car in production in that time frame, albeit Apple has yet to comment on the story and sources have remained anonymous.

Apple Car has all but pushed Apple Watch out of the headlines in the last two weeks. Successive reports from mainstream outlets have claimed Apple has a team as large as a thousand people working on the project, that it is codenamed “Titan,” and that Apple has hired any number of people from the automotive industry.

touchid

Apple may be expanding its Touch ID technology to other devices.

Current rumors have it that the forthcoming 12-inch MacBook Air — which is widely believed to include a high-resolution Retina display and vastly-reduced I/O — could also sport a Touch ID sensor positioned above its trackpad, according to Taiwanese blog AppleCorner, which has cited supply chain sources. In addition, the Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad may be updated to include the biometric functionality.

That could be a prelude to making Apple Pay available for payments on the web. Currently, Apple Pay can only be used for in-store transactions via NFC or as part of the checkout process for iOS apps.

If you’re hankering for an updated MacBook Air, there may be some good news on the horizon.

According to a new rumor, Apple may be refreshing the current MacBook Air as early as February 24th. Swedish web site Leterm svetem Applem, citing sources from the Czech reseller network, states the update will come with no fanfare or keynote presentation, unsurprising considering a lack of major changes for the lineup. Apple also won’t discuss the long-rumored ultra-slim MacBook Air around the launch of the new refresh, hoping the “quiet” update tides users over until later in the year.

With the Apple Watch shipping in April, Apple may be changing some of its retail methods to match the product.

According to sources, Apple is planning several new features for its retail stores to support the Gold Watch Edition of the device. As reported several months ago, Apple is planning on allowing customers to actually try on the watches and test out different band styles inside of stores. With the high-expected price tag of the gold watch models, Apple will also step up its security features for stores.

Over on 9to5Mac, there’s the following:

Apple will outfit its official retail stores with safes to house the more expensive, gold “Edition” variants of the upcoming Apple Watch. The safes will likely be used to carry both to-be-sold inventory as well as to store demo units from the show floor overnight. The custom-designed safes will be outfitted with Apple Watch MagSafe chargers in order to keep the demo units charged up and ready to go for the next day of business. Apple has already begun installing the safes in some stores ahead of the Apple Watch’s expected release in April…

Citing industry sources, the South Korean publication reported on Sunday that Samsung’s Austin, Texas fab is responsible for a 75 percent slice of orders for Apple’s upcoming SoC, presumably dubbed “A9″ if the company’s A-series naming convention is followed.

Per 9to5Mac, iFanr has published a full gallery of what is claimed to be the lid and display for the upcoming 12-inch MacBook Air have been published by Japanese web site iFanr.

The legitimacy of the photos has not been determined, but you can see several additional photos below, including shots comparing it to current Apple devices such as the iPad and existing MacBooks.

The rumored 12.9-inch “iPad Pro” could be getting a stylus to go along with it.

Per AppleInsider, well-regarded analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities said numerous stylus-related patents filed by the Cupertino-based company and his own research lead him to believe the iPad maker will launch a stylus in the second quarter of this year to compliment the 12.9-inch so-called “iPad Pro.”

“Given that it’s more precise than a person’s fingers, a stylus can be more convenient to use than the combination of keyboard and mouse in some cases,” Kuo wrote. “Therefore, we believe Apple’s stylus will improve the user experience of 12.9-inch iPad.”
