Sony Ericsson T608 Rumors

(Sprint PCS confirmed the handset was going to be made available, and now, according to MobileTracker, it wont be. No source was listed, and I will contact Sprint PCS business services again to see what the status is. SprintPCS has the phone on their website for $229, though some of the information is not correct. You can also watch the hand-wringing in real-time on T608 Users if you are interested. -Emory)
A recent MobileTracker story says that the T608 is not coming (despite a recent rumor here at the PowerPage). Their source is a Reuters story that mentions cost cutting moves.

Ask PowerPage: Tips on Buying a PowerBook Via eBay (or Private Parties)

With increasing fraud on eBay, is it even safe to try to buy PowerBook through them? Is escrow service the way to go? There seem to be some good deals on eBay or other classified services – some frankly seem to good to be true. Any tips on protecting a purchase from the evil doers who are out to rip off Mac fans? We can dream, right? Sure, there’s an excellent chance that next week’s Macworld keynote will be nothing other than a rehash of Apple’s blockbuster WWDC announcements. But Apple will have a big crowd assembled at the Javits Center Tuesday morning, so why not make a little big splash? The company has been known to make announcement at shows other than Macworld. Here’s what I’d like to see make the list.
