This may help Apple’s plans to help make HealthKit ubiquitous and to get digital patient records out in a timely manner.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) commissioner Scott Gottlieb this week released a statement on how the government agency is aiming to streamline innovation of digital health and medical technology through a new approach to regulating devices:

FDA will soon be putting forward a broad initiative that is focused on fostering new innovation across our medical product centers. I will have more to say on many elements of this initiative soon. However, today I want to focus on one critical aspect of this innovation initiative: A new Digital Health Innovation Plan that is focused on fostering innovation at the intersection of medicine and digital health technology. It’s been a quiet trend, but it’s still worth noting.

Over the last few months, a number of companies, including Google, Amazon and eBay have pulled some of their Apple Watch apps from the App Store.

The programs, namely Google Maps, Amazon and eBay, were all early supporters of the Apple Watch and released apps within a few months of the wearable’s April 2015 debut.

Checking today, none of the three companies offer Apple Watch apps, having quietly removed Apple Watch functionality through App Store updates. It’s not entirely clear when each app was updated to remove Apple Watch support, with the feature elimination appearing to have largely gone under the radar.

Apple cleaned house via a slew of operating system updates on Monday, pinning down nearly 350 known vulnerabilities between its changes to iOS, macOS, watchOS and tvOS.

Starting with iOS 10.3, Apple’s latest version includes Find My AirPods, Apple’s new file system, CarPlay, and a few other small visual tweaks. With nearly every update Apple does, they also include a handful of security fixes that easily go unnoticed by the user. iOS 10.3 is no exception with over 85 different common vulnerabilities and exposures (CVEs) listed.

In one case, the iOS 10.3 update patched a security hole that allowed attackers to spam Safari with a ‘Cannot Open Page’ dialog. Lookout, a cybersecurity company, learned of the attack after one of their users complained of losing control over their browsing experience. The dialog was meant to trick users into eventually paying money to “unlock” their Safari browser.
