It’s been a quiet trend, but it’s still worth noting.

Over the last few months, a number of companies, including Google, Amazon and eBay have pulled some of their Apple Watch apps from the App Store.

The programs, namely Google Maps, Amazon and eBay, were all early supporters of the Apple Watch and released apps within a few months of the wearable’s April 2015 debut.

Checking today, none of the three companies offer Apple Watch apps, having quietly removed Apple Watch functionality through App Store updates. It’s not entirely clear when each app was updated to remove Apple Watch support, with the feature elimination appearing to have largely gone under the radar.

Even Apple Watch batteries can swell.

Responding to user complaints about the issue, Apple has extended its warranty coverage for the first-gen Apple Watch’s expanded/swollen battery issues to three years. This covers customers for services an additional two years beyond the complimentary 1-year Limited Warranty Period.

The issue with swollen and expanded batteries on first-gen Apple Watch models has been documented online by users experiencing the problem— here on Apple support forums, for example, and on Reddit— but appears to not be widespread or something that has made mainstream media headlines.

The next-gen Apple Watch may feature glucose sensors.

CNBC, citing sources close to the story, has reported that Apple has reportedly hired a team of biomedical engineers to develop noninvasive glucose sensors for integration in Apple Watch, a solution that could lead to continuous monitoring of blood sugar levels for users with diabetes.

The small biomedical group is apparently part of a “super secret” initiative, first imagined by late cofounder Steve Jobs, to create a noninvasive glucose monitoring solution. The company is said to have been working on the project for five years now.

The rumor mill has spoken and the third-gen Apple Watch won’t see a radical revision, but will apparently focus on battery life and performance.

The reports surfaced from anonymous contacts along the supply line and were reported by the Economic Daily News.

Apple unveiled the second generation of Apple Watch alongside the iPhone 7 in September. Dubbed Series 2, the device features a brighter display, a better processor in the S2 chip, and water resistance, but kept the same design as its predecessor. After testing, it was noted that the battery lasted much longer than the original model, pushing into a third day on a single charge.

Apple on Tuesday pulled watchOS 3.1.1, the latest update for its watchOS operating system, following complaints that the update rendered an unknown number of Apple Watch Series 2 units unusable.

Apple Watch owners attempting to upgrade to watchOS 3.1.1 through the dedicated Watch app on iOS will find watchOS 3.1 as the current version, meaning Apple has temporarily disabled the point update after its release on Monday.

The update appears to have bricked an unknown number of Apple Watch Series 2 devices. Customers impacted by the faulty code reported seeing a recovery screen with a red exclamation mark after attempting to install watchOS 3.1.1. The foreboding prompt urged users to visit www.apple.com/help/watch, a landing page that ultimately leads to a Support Document covering frozen Apple Watch hardware.
