Compaq's Wireless Armada

It looks like Compaq is jumping on the wireless home networking bandwagon as well. News.com reports that Compaq will introduce wireless networking to its Armada notebooks, and that the wireless networking market will boom in the next year. Dell‘s Aironet and Apple‘s AirPort technologies, which are based on the IEEE 802.11 standard, are already shipping. The advantages of wireless networking are more flexibility in the network, the ability to access the network without a tangle of wires, and lower cost compared to laying cable.
