In the wake of his pulling the Peace ad-blocking app from the App Store, Apple offering a full refund to Peace’s customers and the fallout from this, developer Marco Arment has just released something else that looks pretty slick.

Overcast 2, Arment’s podcast player, has just been released. The new version offers the following fixes and changes:

– Streaming

– Chapters

– Storage management

– Icon badge option

– Play-by-priority option

– Smart Speed now dynamically adjusts to quiet voices

– Lots of bugs fixed, including playlist reordering and storage growth

– Tons of little improvements and optimizations

Arment has also announced that he’s moved away from in-app purchases to access Overcast’s full feature set, and will release the app for free, but opt for a patronage system in which customers can pay whatever they feel is appropriate at any time they desire.

Overcast 2.0 is available for free and requires iOS 9.0 or later to install and run.

If you’ve tried Overcast 2.0 and have any feedback to offer, please let us know in the comments.
