Free Mac Classes in Santa Ana, Ca

Rich Barron of Santa Ana College’s Marketplace Education Center wrote us to let us know that the college offers two dozen free Macintosh classes as part of their adult education program. The classes range from basic skills (in English or Spanish), through the Office 98 programs and into Photoshop, Illustrator, navigating the Internet, beginning Web design, and a new course, Macintosh Troubleshooting, designed for people who work with Macs or have one at home.

”It’s a heck of a deal,” Rich says. “The classes are completely free – even for parking.” The state funds the adult education program and is based on enrollment. The classes are one day a week for an hour and a half and are offered during the day between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.; in the evening between 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.; and on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Free registration begins September 4th, as do the classes. The semester runs until December 14th. The Marketplace Education Center is located on the second floor (enter through the parking structure) of 201 E. Fourth St., Santa Ana, CA 92701. Their phone number is (714) 564-5760. E-mail Rich for a complete class schedule or with any questions.
