GAIT Compatible Bluetooth Cell Phone

After reading the article “Thou Shalt Not Covet Thy Neighbor’s Bluetooth Cellphone”, I spent several evenings searching the web to find a creature that meets your criteria. Finally, success!

The Sony Ericsson T62u is a GAIT compatible cellphone with Java capabilities. It functions on both TDMA and GSM networks through the GAIT technology, allowing you to roam several different networks.

And, with the addition of the Ericsson DBA-10 Bluetooth Adapter, you can take advantage of BT headphones and other accessories, including syncronization. It’s not as elegant as built-in BT, but at least it’s an option for those of us stranded in TDMA-only areas! However, from what I can tell it’s not shipping yet. It was announced in March 2002, but I can’t find it anywhere for sale. Ed: Anyone? Anyone? -PK?
