I have been wishing for such a device after carrying around my original ABS1 for a while and reading about a guy who made his ABS more compact by modding the case and ripping out everything but the essentials. (anyone have the URL?)
Apple announced that they have received 80,000 pre-orders for the Airport Express, so get in the queue before they sell out (like the mini) or drop by an Apple retail store near you to see if they’re in stock. A good review of the APE (with photos of the guts) can be found at Notebook Review.

Going APE for the AirPort Express!

The US$129 device, announced in early June, looks slightly larger than a PowerBook AC adapter and is plugged directly into a wall outlet providing up to 10 wireless Internet connections and USB printing. Airport Express also features analog and digital audio outputs that can be connected to a stereo. AirTunes (built into iTunes 4.6) wirelessly streams music to any room.
Do you want one? Too many restrictions? Where have you found them in stock? Post your thoughts in the new open comments section below.
