On a recent trip with my daughters, we intended to watch DVD’s on my Powerbook G4 on a five hour flight. I purchased a couple stereo splitters and tested them at home. Forgetting just how loud a 777 is, we were unable to hear the movie even with the volume cranked. My idea was a bust.
Since then I have been searching for a low cost solution to the volume problem. Just today I was in my local Radio Shack and they recently received a battery powered stereo headphone booster. The best part is that up to three headphones can plugged in at one time.
It works great on the ground and I will test it in the air next week. It cost about US$15 and requires two AA batteries. Item #33-1109.
