iFixit publishes iPhone X teardown, finds logic board that’s been folded in half, other interesting changes

Once again, the cool cats at iFixit have gotten their mitts on the new iPhone and published a full teardown of their findings.

Some of the highlights of the teardown included the following:

Battery: The iPhone X uses a two-cell 10.35 Wh battery. Previous iPhones use a single-cell battery.

Logic board: The logic board is, as iFixit puts it, “folded” in half. This is done to make room for more battery.

Qualcomm: This particular iPhone X had Qualcomm LTE chips.

The teardown also noted the TrueDepth camera used for Face ID access.

For those of you possibly looking to open up your iPhone X units and tinker, iFixit gave the new handset a 6 out of 10 for a repairability score (1 being the hardest to repair, 10 being the easiest) and cited the small maze of fragile cables and connectors inside.

Be sure to check out the full teardown and let us know what you think of the new iPhone X in the comments.
