iMacs Can Get CD-Rs

Owners of iMacs, which lack SCSI ports and any recourse for adding a full-fledged SCSI port, have only a couple options if they want to get on the recordable CD-R drive bandwagon. One is to get an external USB model such as the QUE! 8x4x2x External USB CD-RW Drive. Another is to get an internal replacement drive for the CD-ROM unit.

TechWorks offers a CD-R drive, the PowerCDR, which doesn’t offer rewrite capabilities, but is a 4x write / 20x read drive that supports disc-at-once, track-at-once, and multi-session writing and goes for $359.99 at their online store.
