iMacs Debut in JCPenney's Catalog

iMacs in a JCPenney catalog? Yes, several NoBeige.com readers informed us that it’s true that the fruit-flavored iMacs have made it into JCPenney’s Fall/Winter ’99 catalog on page 768 and 787. Here’s the description, courtesy of Bill Kalb:

“New! Apple iMac Person Computer makes the world come alive with its array of dazzling colors and outstanding performance. Easy to set-up and use. Features a 333MHz PowerPC G3 processor, 32MB SDRAM, 6GB hard disk drive, 24X Max CD-Rom drive, 56Kbps modem, two 12 Mbps Universal Serial Bus (USB) ports. ATI Range [obviously they mean Rage] Pro Turbo accelerated 2D/3D graphics controller for the hottest game titles and 3-D programs. Incorporates a 15-in. color display with a fast 117Hz refresh rate, or set resolution as high as 1,024×768 pixels. Built-in speakers.”

The pricetag comes out to US$1399.99 that includes a “special software bundle.” The software bundle consists of “You Don’t Know Jack – Censored, Titanic – An Interactive Journey, After Dark Screen Savers, Fisher-Price Big Action garage, and more.”
