Imation SuperDisk Not Bootable

After some feedback from readers the NoBeige Testing Labs installed a fresh copy of Mac OS 8.5 onto our external USB SuperDisk drive proceeded to try to boot from the disk.

During the restart chime we held down the standard control-option-shift-delete key combination (which bypasses the device at ID “0”) and were met by the flashing system folder icon, indicating that the iMac could not find a bootable device.

Selecting the SuperDisk in the startup disk control panel yielded the same results. Translation: you can’t make an 8.5/Disk First Aid or 8.5/Norton bootable disk. We are waiting for a response from Imation about this issue.
