I’m quite pleased to announce the 1.0 release of Impression, a backup utility for Mac OS X. As a little surprise (and by popular request), we’ve added multi-directory backup support for the 1.0 version.
The original PowerPage post announcing Impression’s public beta release was superb; readers came in droves, were wonderfully polite and offered many good suggestions. Multi-directory support was in no small way added as a result of PowerPage reader feedback.
Impression is a low cost ($20) backup utility used to back up directories to (and restore them from) multiple optical discs (CD-R, CD-RW, and DVD-R are supported). It includes a utility for erasing re-writable discs.
What’s new in this version (short list):
- Multi-directory backups
- Help system
- Improved disk space usage estimates
- UI improvements
- Restore engine bug fixes
