Industry Standard magazine, one of our newsroom’s favorites, announced yesterday that it is ceasing publication. Today’s lead story in their excellent Media Grok newsletter told the tale.

As goes the Internet Economy, so goes the magazine founded to coverit. Yesterday the Industry Standard announced that it is ceasingpublication. The magazine’s Web site said the company will “maintainits online editorial coverage while it seeks a buyer,” but only askeleton crew of six to 20 employees will remain. The parent company,Standard Media International, is expected to file for Chapter 11bankruptcy protection shortly.
