Jaguar Breaks Mac OS Sales Record

Apple announced today that more than 100,000 copies were sold of Mac OS X version 10.2 this weekend, a new record for opening weekend “box office” for a Mac OS release. That’s fantastic news not only for Apple but for developers who were growing impatient with the adoption rate of Mac OS X. Over 50,000 people visited Apple’s 35 retail stores during Friday night’s “100 minutes of Jaguar” event. For those of you without calculators, that’s an average of over 1400 people per store — no wonder lines were long!
