This is rumor speculation, but I’m submitting to this site because that’s where this info first came from… way back in March of 2001!
There was an image back in the Go2Mac days called “trackbadbig.jpg” that showed a diagram of a trackpad and stylus combined in interesting ways, perhaps with the whole wrist rest detecting the stylus, while only the trackpad could detect fingers. The explanation was minimal, but it looked like it did more than just pointing and handwriting.
Now, with Inkwell, rumors have appeared on other sites that PowerBooks may use it. Combined with that old image (is it sill around anywhere? can someone at PowerPage dig it back up?)… it’s something to think about.
Of course, when new PowerBook form factors will appear at all is another question!
