Let it Sno, Let it Sno, Let it Sno – The Coolest Holiday App

The PowerPage got its hands on what may be the coolest holiday application to hit the scene since Christmas lights. Sno (or Snö with an umlet) is a cool little cocoa app that does one thing, but it does it really well – it makes snow fall on your desktop.

Let it Sno!The PowerPage got its hands on what may be the coolest holiday application to hit the scene since Christmas lights. Sno (or Snö with an umlet) is a cool little cocoa app that does one thing, but it does it really well – it makes snow fall on your desktop.

David Remahl’s Snö Desktop is a self-running Mac OS X application the allows you to have snow falling in the foreground or in the background and has a great slew of preferences. You can control how much snow falls, how fast it falls and how large the flakes are. You can even control the flake’s spin and wind direction. I have to warn you that heavy snow in a variable wind can you make you kinda dizzy after a while.

So whether you set Snö to “dumping” because you just got 100 inches of fresh in a week (like Kirkwood just did) or to something more like a light dusting (as we pray for snow here in PA) Snö has a little something for everyone.

If you want to get in touch with the creator of this application, visit the Infinity-to-the-Power-of-Infinity (ITTPOI) Web site. They also make several other fun, useful and interesting pieces of software. Some are free, others are shareware. Please check them out if you appreciate Sn?!

Snö is provided freely and is “distribute as you will” ware. Enjoy!
