Linksys Offers Solution to PowerBook Upgrade

If you’re looking for a possible alternative to upgrading your PowerBook to 56 K and 10/100 with two separate PC cards, you should check out a combo card such as the Linksys EtherFast 10/100+56 K Modem PC card (PCMLM56). One reader reports:

Ingram lists this saying it [Linksys EtherFast 10/100+56 K Modem PC Card] “Supports all major OS’s including Linux.” When I called Linksys, the first person I spoke to said there was no Mac support. I questioned their assertion that it “Supports all major OS’s” and they transferred me to their tech support “wizard.”

He told me that Linksys is currently developing Mac software for this PC card. I confirmed this with their sales department. Further, it was suggested that Linksys is in the process of developing Mac drivers for all of their products, this as result of the resurgence of Mac.
