Lombard Fan or Jumbo Jet Taking off?

Early adopters that purchased Lombard are complaining quite loudly about the noise generated by the unit’s obsessively loud fan. The fan now vents on the left middle of the PowerBook (where the modem is on Wallstreet) and it comes on when the temperature gets to about 169 degrees Farenheit (75 degrees Celsius) and most times a CD or DVD-ROM is in use. The only thing I can think to compare the noise to is an electric hair dryer, an unfortunate engineering oversight.
