IMG Magazine reported yesterday that the long awaited ATI 128 chipset line, including the Nexus 128, XclaimVR 128, and the Rage Orion have completed development and will begin shipping on June 25th. Meanwhile, the MacGamer’s Ledge today reviews a test version of Formac’s Proformance III for the Mac, and it appears to have an impressive lead over the Rage Orion. This is especially remarkable considering the Proformance III is still in early testing. With Formac’s foray into the Mac market, and the questionable but very real possibility of a deal with nVidia to bring its TNT 2 card to the Mac platform, we are now seeing a significant and encouraging movement in the hardware market towards Mac gaming.
