I have been researching the Logitech Pocket Digital, a very small and sleek low-res digital camera. It suits my purposes very well, but Logitech has decided not to release the Mac drivers. SMaL, the manufacturer of the camera internals provided both Mac and PC drivers to Logitech but Logitech only relseased the PC versions.
Below is an excerpt from the SMaL email:
”Thanks for the note. SMaL’s cameras and software are Mac compatible. We have shared our strong interest in Mac-compatibility with all of our OEM partners, but ultimately, it’s their choice as to which OS’ they support. I’m sorry for any inconvenience you may have experienced.”
Sounds like a good candidate for thoughtful, well-written promotion, especially given the large digital camera market on the Mac. Though I’d like to see support for the Logitech Io digital pen, too! -PK
