As reported in Singapore’s “The Straits Times” Saturday, Apple has placed an order for 30,000 bondi phones from Singapore Shinei Sangyo Pte Ltd. The colorful McPiper is a 900mhz USB cordless phone, emailer and address organizer which can dock into your Macintosh and communicate at a range of up to 250 meters. The company is trying valiently to make inroads into the US market and the Apple deals seems to bode well. The pricey McPiper will sell for $199. The compnay’s web site also tells Mac users to watch for “telephony products, PDA and lifestyle accessories” which are coming soon.
