A blog entry over at CrunchGear.com discusses what it refers to as a “sound tip” that Microsoft is developing a Zune-branded telephone with executives meeting as of yesterday to discuss service details, development plans and timelines for the product’s release.
The article mentions the following:
-The phone will function “homogenously” within the Zune marketplace. Rather than running the Windows Mobile operating system, it will use an interface similar to the Zune’s.
-The device will focus on connectivity and be able to sync with the Xbox 360 and stream data to the phone using a wireless connection. This would enable the phone to have full access to the millions of Xbox 360 it’s already sold.
-The phone would be available for the 2007 holiday season.
Once again, this remains in the realm of rumors and speculation at this point, but if you have any comments or feedback, let us know.
