treo700w.jpgThe WSJ’s Walt Mossberg weighs in on the new Windows Mobile-powered Treo 700w from PalmOne.
The Good:
- EVDO (10x faster)
- Better keyboard
- Better camera (1.3MP v. 0.3MP)
- Twice usable memory
- Better (claimed) battery life
The Bad:
- Smaller screen (240*240, 44% less than 320*320)
- Email bugs/weaker
- Twice as expensive
- Poor one-handed phone operation
I won’t buy any WinMo-powered phone right now because their lack of native Mac compatibility. I have to admit to being (briefly) tempted by the fast EVDO service, until I found out that they don’t have coverage in my area. I will considering getting a Treo 700p (running Palm OS) once the exclusive period with Microsoft expires.
