NEC Announces Quad-Band, Color, Java Phone

NEC 515This is for your phone maniacs out there. NEC just unveiled their Quad-band 65,000 color and Java mobile phone – the NEC 515.

The NEC GSM GPRS mobile handset (NEC 515), with its popular fold form design, will be demonstrated for the first time at CeBIT 2002. A high-end product with metalised casing and weighing only 100g, the 90cc NEC 515 is contemporary and easy to use.

A highlight of the handset is its 2.2 inch 16 BIT screen, which displays 65,000 colours. Designed to enhance the icon-driven software, the screen can accommodate up to 14 lines of text.

GPRS compatible, the handset has a tri-browser that can manage CHTML, WML and XHTML Basic. A mobile services compliant handset, users will navigate the exclusively developed with, where content will be downloaded.
