New Sony Vaio is Smallest, Lightest XP Machine

Sony Vaio PCG-U1 Sony just announced something small, the new Vaio PCG-U1. It is billed as the world’s smallest and lightest XP laptop. [Is that because the OQO isn’t shipping or because it isn’t considered a laptop? -Ed]. The new Vaio uses a Transmeta 867MHz TM5800 chip, 256MB of memory (128MB x2), 20GB HDD, XGA 6.4″ TFT, battery that runs for 4 hours, Firewire port, MemoryStick slot, 100Base-TX/10Base-T port, and Windows XP Home Edition. Available end of April for about US$1200. More information is in the Japanese PDF.
