In light of the release of competitive products from Handspring and TRG, the latest advance in the wireless race goes to Palm Computing’s new enterprise handheld solutions, the Palm HotSync server software and Palm Ethernet cradle. These products are slated for release next year:
The Palm HotSync server is a software product that offers companies improved mobile application access and manageability of handheld fleets. It also enables cross-platform synchronization of handheld products based on both the Palm Computing platform and Microsoft’s Windows CE operating system.
The Palm Ethernet cradle improves application and data access by allowing the handheld to synchronize directly with the networked server or a user’s PC from shared spaces, allowing users to access and update data from many locations on the corporate campus.
