Your editor is in a lather about today’s announcements and hoping upon hope for an updated PowerBook (PowerMacs? Who needs ‘em!) – but after chatting with associate editor Rob Parker, a.k.a. the voice of reason, I’m getting more and more convinced that today’s announcement may not involve any hardware at all.
Rob thinks Apple will announce some sort of professional photo application since the event is on the eve of PhotoPlus Expo. “You’ve got Final Cut and iMovie, Soundtrack Pro and Garage Band, DVD Studio Pro and iDVD. We need Mac Photo Pro and iPhoto.” Also, the event is being held in New York and Apple traditionally makes their announcements in the San Jose/Cupertino area.
The odds on the PowerBook nano may have gotten longer, but I’m still pulling for a PowerBook refresh anyway.
