First Late-2008 MacBook Pictures Go Live

You wanted MacBook disassembly pictures (on one level or another), you've got them.
According to the Apple Core, the disassembly gurus over at Kodawarisan have posted a full photo gallery of the newly-released late-2008 MacBook being disassembled.
The shots include everything from the easily-removed hard drive to the logic board, the centrifugal fan and pictures of the Nvidia and Intel chips.

iPod Nano 4G Unboxing Gallery Posted

Jason's new fourth generation iPod nano just came in and the man got busy unpacking it and taking photos to show to others.
Oddly enough, this is almost identical to what's done when a newborn arrives.
I'm just saying.

With the first day wrapping up, here's some of the sights of Macworld Expo, the new MacBook Air, revised Apple TV and the show in general.
Opinion: the MacBook Air is light as a feather, speedy, but more than invites comment regarding the battery, its RAM and the fact that the unit seems hermetically sealed.

UK iPhone Launch Recapped

Over in England, PowerPage reader Neal Hoskins sent this along with the following UK Launch Day photos:
I came.
I saw.
I didn't get an iPhone.
Well, there you are. The fated November 9th has come and gone, there were queues at the Apple Store in Regent Street (but of course there would be if you shut a big store for four hours) but in many of the other outlets for 02 and the Carphone Warehouse, there was no wait or even a queue. The articles and reviews on the iPhone have been of the board and hats off to Apple for getting the iPhone into the mainstream press (even the ultra-conservative Daily Mail reviewed it.) Now it's Monday and with no more people waiting, I wonder how many iPhones they actually sold to those who were not Apple fans (all the people in the queque in Eichmond I spoke to were).
The amount of over-the-top preparation I saw present when the staff inside the store almost outnumbered the number of people waiting. No one wanted a demonstration, just to buy the iPhone as the overkill on reviews and the excellent apple support on what the phone does has meant that we all know what this iPhone is....
P.S.: I must say though the web browing and photo pinching functionality rocks and that is what will change the face of mobile software, that much I am sure of...

Honestly, I've yet to go to one of these (Philadelphia being about a three hour drive from D.C.), but it looks fun and tech meetings should generally be accompanied by good food and a fermented beverage within easy reach.
Where my own user group meetings are concerned, I'll always have RIMUG, Washington Apple Pi (and this killer garage sales) and the fact that former head honcho, Star Wars nerd and coolest boss I ever had Juan Mariscal didn't strangle me when I probably deserved it back in Rhode Island.
